Megalo + Edition Printing: 2012 - 2019
In 2012 I was incredibly fortunate to be given the studio manager position for the etching, relief and lithography studios at Megalo Print Studio.
I worked as the studio manager until 2019, and in that time I got to work with some of the best artists and printers in the country, as well as dozens of local, national, and international residents.
Alongside my role at Megalo I also engaged as an editioning printer for a small number of artists, operating as Pindika Press - a small scale editioning and book publishing house (still operating!)
Below are some highlights from the Megalo years.
KYOKO IMAZU - 2019
This was a small series of stone lithographs, printed for my friend (and extremely talented artist/printmaker) Kyoko Imazu.

ARONE MEEKS - 2017
Arone Meeks (a well known artist, and Kukumidiji man of Laura, Far North Queensland) spent several weeks at Megalo undertaking an ambitious residency, producing a number of multi-plate copper etchings (printed by Clare Jackson) and several large lithographs (printed by me and Millan Pintos-Lopez)
You can read about Arone’s exhibition at Megalo here: Beyond the Blue: Unbroken. An artistic anthology of works on paper
Arone has, very sadly, since passed away. He was a wonderful artist, and is missed.

KATY MUTTON - 2016
I printed this for my good friend Katy Mutton, for her Print Council of Australia Print Commission in 2016.
This was both a nightmare and a pleasure to print - it is definitely the print I am proudest of.
We had very little leeway for error, and it was a lot of colours in a reasonably large edition (I think 50?), so lots of scope for things to go wrong!

ALISON ALDER - THE KNOWN WORLD - 2015
This commission came to Megalo through the National Gallery of Australia, asking us to print for Alison Alder (who is a much better screenprinter than I am!) for the Eighth Australian Print Symposium
This was a huge joy to print, and progress photos are included below.

ANZAC CENTENARY PRINT PORTFOLIO - 2014/15
I was incredibly lucky to work with Master Printer John Loane, printing for the ten artists invited to participate in the Australian War Memorial’s ANZAC Centenary Print Portfolio.
The aim of the Portfolio was to creatively explore the legacy of the First World War and the Centenary itself as a way of linking our past with our present and future.
The ten artists chosen to participate were: Daniel Boyd, Megan Cope, Helen Johnson, Mike Parr, and Sangeeta Sandrasegar from Australia; and Shane Cotton, Brett Graham, Fiona Jack, John Reynolds, and Sriwhana Spong from New Zealand. Each artist came to Megalo for a two-week residency, during which they worked with John Loane and the staff at Megalo to produce their prints.
A limited edition of 20 portfolios were printed, with 17 gifted to cultural institutions in Australia and around the world to promote international awareness of Australian and New Zealand artists and of our countries’ experiences of the First World War. The edition presented to the Parliament House Art Collection was displayed at Parliament House, Canberra in 2016
